How tall is Sigourney Weaver

American actress best known for starring in films such as Aliens, Ghostbusters, Working Girl, Galaxy Quest and Gorillas in the Mist. In a 1989 edition of The Dallas Morning News, she commented on her stature, saying: "But I am 5 foot 11 inches tall", and also "I've lost a lot of roles because of my height, I'm 6ft 3 in heels."

I was up for movies with major stars and when I'd walk in, [the actors] would sit down. It depends on the guy. People used to have a more idealized sense of what a couple should be - the man taller, the woman smaller. I am about 5 feet 11. It's never been a problem in any of the jobs I've done. I did a movie...with Mel Gibson, and I'm sure I'm a couple of inches taller than Mel, but he's so secure it was never an issue.

[Sigourney] reached her full height - 5 feet 10 ½ inches - early, at the age of 13. Which made her feel awkward. "My mother saved the day. She kept telling me it was marvelous to be so stately. If she hadn't said that, I might have grown even more self-conscious about my height."

I was christened Susan but for some reason I thought I was too tall for the name — I was already 5 feet 10 inches when I was 12 years old. So I just took Sigourney out of a book by F. Scott Fitzgerald and I don’t know how, or why, but I just kept it.
