How tall was Robert Mitchum

American Actor best remembered for roles in films such as The Night of the Hunter, The Big Sleep, Out of the Past, Angel Face, El Dorado, 'Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison', Story of G.I. Joe, Cape Fear and Ryan's Daughter. His driving license (at age 33) states his height as 6ft, 200 lbs. He also said he was "Six feet...my police department measurements say six feet, and they're good at that sort of thing."

"How tall are you?" [Robert] Taylor asked.
"Oh, I don't know, probably six feet," Mitchum answered.
"That can't be," Taylor said, looking up to the taller Mitchum. "I'm six-one. You have to be six-three or -four."
("In those days," Mitchum recalls, "every actor was supposed to be six-one...including Alan Ladd. And in this scene, we're supposed to be eyeball to eyeball. So, okay, he was six-one, but I know I'm about six feet and he had to look up at least an inch at me.")
