How tall was Yul Brynner

Russian born actor, best remembered for roles in The King and I, The Ten Commandments, Westworld, Anastasia, Solomon and Sheba, Cast a Giant Shadow, The Brothers Karamazov, Escape from Zahrain and The Magnificent Seven. On an immigration form he claimed to be 5ft 10 and weight of 180 pounds, although pushed this claim to extraordinary heights in 1958: " [He] stands 5-feet-11 and three-fourths tall...'I say I'm six feet. Takes less time to say it, besides who cares?' "How tall is Yul BrynnerPhoto By CBS Television, via Wikimedia Commons
Harvey Grant (Studio Executive): "Every day there'd be something else. Once we were very close to calling it all off - and for the oddest reason. I had noticed a newspaper article that listed his height as a 'shade under six feet.' Innocently, I said that it must have been an error because I was six feet and was about three inches taller than he. You'd think I had said that his mother was a wh**e from the way he reacted..."

Throughout his life Yul was sensitive about how tall the public thought he was. He refused to divulge exact measurements. When a 20th Century-Fox release said he was five feet, nine inches, he charged into Grant's office and called him a scheming perjurer.
