Paul Reiser is an American comedian, actor, writer and musician. He is known for his roles as Michael Taylor on the 1980s sitcom My Two Dads, Paul Buchman in the NBC sitcom Mad About You, Modell in the 1982 Diner, Carter Burke in the 1986 Aliens, as Detective Jeffrey. Friedman in Beverly Hills Cop, and Beverly Hills Cop 2, and most recently Jim Neiman in 2014 Whiplash and Doug Getty in Amazon Video Red Oaks. Reiser was ranked 77th on Comedy Central's 2004 list of "100 Best Actors of All Time." Reiser's production company name, Nuance Productions, was inspired by one of his lines in the movie Diner, in which his character explained his annoyance with the word "nuance". Reiser also starred in Netflix's supernatural horror series Stranger Things as Dr. Sam Owens. Reiser appeared in the second season of The Kominsky Method as Martin, the boyfriend of Mindy Kominsky.
